Young Women in Tech Program

Young Women in Tech

The Young Women in Tech initiative is dedicated to closing the gender gap in technology by empowering women with job-ready skills in STEM fields β€” including IT, cybersecurity, fintech, engineering, digital marketing, and project management.

As part of this mission, Slamm Foundation partnered with Star Women Foundation to train 50 young female graduates in essential I.T and digital skills through the STAR Alternative Access Program.

This program provides low-income, post-secondary female graduates with access to blended learning, mentorship, apprenticeship placements, and leadership training β€” equipping them to launch careers or start businesses in the digital economy.

Why Young Women in Tech?

Women underrepresented in STEM

Bridging the STEM Gap

Women and girls remain underrepresented in STEM fields due to limited access to education, resources, and supportive environments. Cultural biases and lack of role models often deepen this gap. Our program tackles these barriers head-on with targeted training and mentorship.

Women mastering IT skills

Master Your IT Skills

We help young women overcome the fear of technology and build confidence through hands-on training in graphic design, coding, cybersecurity, and digital tools. Our goal: turn uncertainty into empowerment.

Women using tech for opportunity

Tech as a Tool for Advancement

Technology should be a ladder β€” not a barrier. We teach women to use tech to their advantage: to start businesses, access remote work, grow professionally, and become leaders in innovation. The future of STEM must be inclusive, diverse, and driven by women.
